October 20, 2026
  • Version 2.0: five skills named by step. Problem Framer is now Frame, Structure & Synthesize is Structure, Strategy Writing is Writing, and Strategy Coach is Coach.
  • Strategy Communicator and Strategy Slides are now one skill, Storyline. It builds the storyline first, then the email, memo, exec summary, or deck, so the two no longer compete for the same requests.
  • Decks start with a few questions (who it's for, presented or sent, and where it has to end up), and Storyline can now build the deck in your AI tool's browser and export a PDF. PowerPoint is still there for decks that must stay editable.
  • Every slide gets checked before you see it: the five- and ten-second tests, horizontal and vertical flow, and the layout guides. Feedback on your own decks starts with the story the titles tell.
  • Upgrading from the six 1.x skills? Delete the old ones before installing the new five, so they don't compete.
  • Writing (and the writing rules in every skill) adds the newer AI tells from 2025 and 2026 models: new watch words like "quietly" and "matters," every sentence the same length, vague connection words, over-formatting, and tracking codes left in links. It also lists what human writing does, so a rewrite keeps it.
  • Storyline builds PowerPoint decks on your company's template or on StrategyU's free consulting templates, in place of seven built-in style presets.

  • Fixed skill triggering in Claude Code: trigger phrases like "help me frame this" and "clean up the writing" now reach Claude, so skills fire on natural requests.
  • Strategy Coach and Strategy Slides no longer compete for the same requests. Coach handles thinking and presentation planning; Slides handles building the .pptx file.
  • No invented numbers. When your source has no specifics, skills now use [bracketed placeholders] and ask instead of making figures up.
  • Problem Framer gives a first-pass SCQA and issue tree alongside its clarifying questions instead of waiting for answers.
  • Removed a contradiction between Strategy Writing (no bold labels) and Strategy Communicator (bold the insights in emails). Emails and slides keep bold insights.
April 22, 2026
  • Memos now explicitly use the Pyramid Principle — governing thought first, insight-statement section headers, first-sentence test.
  • Emails bold the insights (not keywords) so bolded fragments read as a standalone three-second summary.
  • New AI pattern: lazy descriptors like "thinner," "tighter," "softer" used as the main point. Now flagged and rewritten with the insight stated plainly.
  • Skills now ask about audience stance (supportive, skeptical, opposed) before writing from scratch — not just audience role.
